Alf & Sandee Krause
welcome you to their family farm!
From 35 acres to now ove 200 acres - Alf Krause has been working hard for 38 years to provide the berry best berries in the Valley along with the freshest farm grown beans, corn, pumpkins, squash and edamame beans.
Alf, along with his wife Sandee, have purposed to provide not only the best berries in the Valley but also fresh from the farm quality products - berry jams, berry jellies, berry syrups, berry vinegars, fruit pies, berry ice cream, berry donuts, kettle corn, roasted corn pizza, farm fresh soups, creamy fudge, fresh breads & buns, berry cookies, berry perogies and more!
Alf & Sandee do what they love and love what they do!
Pauline came to work here at Krause in June 2003. At that time Alf asked her if she would like to do a little bit of baking. Little did they know!
The little bit of baking began with Sandee & Pauline working together - making about 40 pies on a busy day. These pies were rolled out by hand with rolling pins and the filling was made in crock pots. Not long after that - the kitchen was expanded and now Pauline has a whole team of people working in the kitchen along with a night crew that comes in!
The pies are still made from scratch - although the pie shells are not rolled out with rolling pins any more - BUT still EVERY pie is pinched by hand! We make hundreds of pies per day.
And not only pies - but ALL of our Krause Berry Farm products - jams - jellies - syrups - vinegars - pickled beans - pickled asparagus, fudge, bread, buns, cookies, shortcakes, donuts, kettle corn, roasted corn pizza, farm soups, berry perogies, ice cream and all our Christmas baking is made right here in our farm kitchen using all the farm has to offer from the field to your kitchen!
Pauline loves working amongst friends, making really good food & being proud of what we make. She gets great satisfaction the people are enjoying the quality products that are made here.
This rings so true for Pauline because she makes her own bread and we actually use her pizza dough recipe for our roasted corn pizzas! She knows what quality is!
Sandra joined the farm team in 2011. She was looking for an opportunity to work closer to home and was invited in for an interview!
She has worked really hard this season to perfect the messages on the answering machine! Yes she's the one who can clearly pack in as much info as possible into the message as she tries to help answer some of the questions our guests call in for.
Sandra is well loved by all the employees here - as she does the payroll! She also handles almost all of the accounting aspects of the farm - and that is alot!
She is really enjoying the new friends she has made here at the farm! And we are so glad she is here!
Audrey met Sandee when their children were in elementary school. They struck up a friendship right away as they are both artists and love to create.
After Alf & Sandee were married, Sandee approaced Audrey to see if she could help her paint some signs for her new husband's berry farm.........and as they say, "the rest is history"! Audrey has hand painted almost every sign for the farm - including the big highway signs you see! She is an amazing artist and uses many mediums to create. That has led her into the kitchen to hand decorate all our cookies, make our delicious fudge, and teach our Christmas workshops.
Audrey also plays the flute for the Fraser Valley Symphony Orchestra and has shared her talents with special groups that have booked their Christmas dinners here at the farm.
You will see many other gift items in the farm Market that Audrey has created - such as painted glassware, handcrafted accessories made of wool, cards, ornaments, jewelry etc etc For more information please go to her website.....www.audreylynnstudios.com.
Audrey loves working amongst friends, feels great about seeing her handiwork everywhere and looks forward to hearing about the new projects Sandee has in mind.
Anne joined our team in 2007. She started in the kitchen - helping out Pauline and then was asked to help with the merchandising in the Market.
The farm had grown so much that now we needed one person in charge of the stock in the Market. Anne was put in charge to make sure that the product continued to be rotated correctly, was front faced, priced and moved as necessary.
Anne works alongside Sandee to make sure that the Market is set up in a such a way that all our guests enjoy their visit here and can find what they are looking for.
Anne also enjoys that she is able to work among friends.
